Why use an internal door specialist in Newcastle?
Internal doors are the only thing we do. That focus means we know how to handle sloping floors, out-of-square openings and tired old linings, all common in Tyneside flats, Victorian terraces and 1930s semis.
On a bigger building job, doors are often hung last, when time is short. We treat every opening as a job in its own right. We check the lining is plumb, trim the door so the gaps run even all round, and recess the hinges so the door sits flush and closes without a push.
- Fixed, itemised quotesDoors, hardware and labour are listed separately, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.
- Supply and fit, or fit onlyBuy your doors through us, or have us hang doors you’ve already bought.
- Fire doors done properlyCertified doors and parts, fitted to the manufacturer’s test evidence.
- Tidy from start to finishDust sheets go down first, and waste and old doors leave with us.
Frames, handles and the rest of the doorway
A new door only looks right if the frame and fittings around it are sound. We can take care of the whole opening rather than just the door itself.

Learn moreWhat affects the price of new internal doors?
We price every job from the doors and openings in front of us. These are the things that make the biggest difference:
- Door type and construction. A hollow core painted door costs far less than solid oak or a certified fire door.
- Number of doors. Several doors fitted in one visit work out better value per door.
- Sizes. Standard sizes are quicker to source. Unusual openings may need a door cut down or a lining altered.
- Frames and architrave. Sound linings can stay. Damaged ones add materials and time.
- Handles and hinges. Ironmongery ranges from simple lever sets to heavier designer handles.
Our internal door cost guide explains each factor in more detail, so you can set a budget before you get in touch.
How a door job works, step by step
Here’s what happens between your first email and finished doors.
Send us the details
Use the quote form to tell us how many doors you need, the style you like and any sizes you know. Photos help a lot.
Survey and fixed quote
We measure each opening, check frames and floors, then email a written quote itemising doors, hardware and labour.
Fitting day
Once the doors arrive, we trim, hang and fit the ironmongery with dust sheets down. Most whole-house refits take one to two days.
Checks and tidy-up
We test every latch and gap with you, take away all waste and old doors, and leave care advice for your finish.
Internal door fitting across Newcastle and the North East
We’re based in Newcastle upon Tyne and fit doors all over the city, from Jesmond and Gosforth to Heaton, Fenham and Byker. We also cover Gateshead, North and South Tyneside, Sunderland, and parts of Northumberland and County Durham.
Questions homeowners often ask us
Can you fit new doors in my existing frames?
Usually, yes. If the linings are sound, square and firmly fixed, we hang the new doors in them and adjust the hinge and latch positions to suit. If a lining is twisted or split, we’ll tell you and price a replacement as a separate line on your quote.
Will new doors need trimming for carpet or new flooring?
Often they will. Let us know if new flooring is planned, because we trim each door to suit the finished floor height. That stops doors catching on thick carpet or new laminate.
Can you match new doors to the ones I already have?
In many cases we can. Email us photos and measurements of your current doors and we’ll look for a close match in style and finish. Older or bespoke doors can’t always be matched exactly, and we’ll be honest about how close we can get.
Do I need to be at home while you fit the doors?
It helps if you’re there at the start and the end. That way we can confirm handle positions with you first, then walk you through each finished door.
